The IFF-OBA team carried out a project field assessment from 13.02.2023 to 15.02.2023. The ob-jective of this new project is to install 6,000 smart prepaid water meters in Tanga town and ultimately to improve collection efficiency, recover outstanding arrears, reconnect disconnected customers, automatize meter reading/billing and reduce commercial losses. Tanga WSSA is currently piloting this technology (469 smart prepaid water meters installed).

The IFF OBA team visited (3) customers with installed smart prepaid water meters, (6) targeted po-tential customers and met with local leaders.
