In May 2019, the IFF-OBA team conducted follow up meetings with TIB, CRDB, NBC and NMB Banks. In this context, Equity Bank has been welcomed as new collaborator in the IFF Programme. All visited Banks (re)-confirmed their interest in future support towards water and sanitation projects that will be administered by Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authorities.
The meetings mainly focused on appropriate securities for water utilities and the development of a water and sanitation specific loan facility product. Banks encouraged applicant utilities to re-negotiate their indicative term sheets and engage in a constructive dialogue.
