The IFF-OBA team carried out a project proposal field assessment from 19th to 22nd February 2019. The team visited the location for the construction of the New Bigwa intake,the existing Bongola intake, the location for the construction of 90m3 storage tank, and the sites for the planned distribution mains. Further, the Mindu dam, Mafiga treatment plant, the clear water tank, the Tumbaku reservoir with a capacity of 5,000m3and the pump house were seen.
The team held a meeting with Village Government leaders of Bigwa area to assess the resident’s willingness and ability to pay for the proposed project services. The project intends to extend the distribution network to uncovered service areas of Morogoro UWASA. A total of 1,640 new customers shall be connected to the network.
Way forward: The utility was advised to revise their proposal and the Bill of Quantities. Thereafter, the Consultant will compile a comprehensive assessment report for the envisaged project.
